Accountant (Fixed-Term Contract for 12 months)

We are looking for an accountant or an experienced accountant to provide maternity cover on a fixed-term basis for 1 year, which can be prolonged. You’ll be a member of our local (Budapest) finance team.

Job purpose

monthly invoicing for some customers, cash collection
registration and booking of incoming invoices and bank statements
managing payments (suppliers, taxes, etc.)
Reconciliation of accounts
ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and legal regulations
Preparation of ad-hoc reports
participation in the local audit processes
Preparation and filing of KSH reports
managing and updating the database in the accounting system (customers, dimensions, etc.)
Accounting of travel expenses
Maintaining the chart of accounts to meet controlling standards
Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost control measures

Job requirements

Up-to-date accounting and tax knowledge under Hungarian laws and regulations
Experience with invoicing and taxation issues in global trade/cross-country sales
Fluency in English
Good communication and conflict management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
Experience with accounting software and ERP systems (Apollo and Microsoft Navision is an advantage)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify discrepancies and suggest improvements
